Summer 2017

As Satchel Paige famously said "If I'd know I was going to live this long, I'd have taken better care of myself". I'd love to be out there, backpacking and exploring.

The upper valley of Notellum creek, know to few, told to fewer.

  1. Is that forest fire haze out there?

    1. No, it was taken nearly a month ago, before all the fires started. It's just a typical summer Montana sky.

    1. Me too, if the pacific wasn't 600 miles away....I've done that, Puget Sound and the Straits of Georgia are no stranger to me from years of sailing.

    1. It's Montana. Even though I can no longer backpack or even do long hikes, I like knowing that somewhere, within 15 miles of my chair, is a grizzly, an elk, deer. Just knowing that gives me comfort.

  5. Yeah, I know the feeling about wishing one could be more active.

  6. That photo should make everybody want to go hiking. What a gorgeous looking area. It made me want to be there now.
I can't come close to doing the things I used to, and I'm told that I do more than I should. I totally get what you said about living within 15 miles of those animals. I kind of feel that way about the ocean. I don't have to see it everyday, or even every week, but I love knowing it's close by.
