A friend of mine, unnamed and will remain so, is at a fairly prestigious.........um, firm, organization, wtf. They have a colleague that is 'retiring' under some pressure. This is their going-away party cake for him.
Apparently the leaving was preceded by a whole bunch of bad feelings all around. I would agree it's not the kindest thing to do, but I'd just never seen anything like it.
