A interim post, whilst we wait.....

The rivers here in winter....some of them in the western part of the state remain ice-free all winter. Other's, in the central or eastern part of the state can ice up mostly, partially, or in places over.

I encourage you to enlarge it, it's a nice picture. We've had now two days of 'nice' weather, highs in the 20's, people frolicking in the streets, etc.

I see the Paiute's are getting irritated by the white militants taking over the federal offices in the Malheur, a quote from a tribal leader:

'They just need to get the hell out of here," said Jarvis Kennedy, a member of the tribal council. "They didn't ask anybody, we don't want them here...our little kids are sitting at home when they should be in school."

  1. The shot reminds me of a stretch of state highway 9 between Silverthorne and Kremling, with the Snake River in the foreground and the Gore Range in back. Lovely.

We've been in the low thirties. I contemplate outdoor grilling...

    1. Yup. Except it's snowing again, all day, inches and inches. Not cold though, think around 25.

    1. Oh, you could come here and shovel for a few weeks. Like an apprentice....y'know, without pay.

    2. I've never shoveled snow in my life. I'm sure it's a great workout!

  3. I read the squatters said they would leave if the people wanted them gone. Apparently there are people, then there are people.

    1. Yeah, those like the local Sheriff and other ranchers don't count.

  4. That whole Oregon occupation is pathetic as the hypocrisy of their argument that can steal resources from all the rest of us taxpayers angers me. The fact that they have to have guns to make their point makes them appear even dumber.

    1. Yeah, but witness Trump. 'Dumber' is what the american people are clamoring for.

  5. Beautiful pic! An armed takeover and occupation of a Federal (public) building is an act of aggression. I am not sure why no action has been taken.

    1. Hmmm, I'd guess it has something to do with their demographic data....

  6. My grandfather had a name for them: "Damn fools!"

Or did I say that before?

  7. Maybe the tribe should be encouraged to take over and renegotiate their treaty on the first come theory....
