Two days post-op, the sites where the tubes went into my arteries are healed, and very little bruising around the sites, meaning the doc who did it was good with his hands. That's my main criteria for choosing a surgeon.....I don't care if they have the personality of a troll, as long as they are good with their hands.
As to what they found, the previous stents that were in the left dominant system were clear, and no obvious blockage in the right or circumflex arteries. Good news, as I probably don't need to worry about keeling over from a sudden MI. The next step is a endoscopy, which I'm going to delay until after the Holidays.
Thanks one and all for the concern and encouraging comments, it means a lot to me.
I hope this finds all of you well.
Wow, that's really good news, Mike! Glad you are home and looking forward to the holidays. :)
ReplyDeletePS: what is a Swedish pancake?
DeleteThey are thinner, have a moist, somewhat dense characteristic, and generally somewhat smaller, often only 3-4 inches across. Some stores carry the mix for them, Lunds. Think crepes, only slightly different.
DeleteI'm very happy about the good medical report. I appreciate your comments about a surgeon being good with his hands. When you think about it of course it's more important than personality, but your comment was a kind of DUH! Of Course smack my forehead moment. It is a fine technical skill.
ReplyDeleteYour local bacon looks delish!
Yeah, some of the meats from the butcher shop are damn good, and they smoke their own bacon and hams.
DeleteWe can tell by breakfast that all is as well as it can be! Carry on. And, vote.
ReplyDeleteOf course. And it was tasty indeed.
DeleteGood news is always good to hear.
ReplyDeleteA boatload better than the other kind, eh? Hope you're well too, Bruce.
DeleteGood hands and good personality are independent variables. But good hands and a certain calmness seem to be linked.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are healing well.
Actually Zhoen, it was hilarious, and not just from the 'conscious sedation'....the doc doing the cath did a left heart cath in like 25 minutes, and spent the whole time bitching about a piece of the aperture where they inject the dye into the catheter that they had run out of and had to improvise. Just chewed it like a bone. Finally, after about 20 minutes of this I asked "How's it going?" The doc leaned towards me. "Oh, I'm done, about to take the catheter out." He complained through the procedure.
DeleteDistraction tactic, you suppose?
DeleteNo, just typical cardiac surgeon behavior.
DeleteImprov is a sort of intelligence. Bitching is just normal.
DeleteGlad to hear you are doing well, Mike:-)
ReplyDeleteThanks, hope you are well also.
DeleteHealing and healing hands are two things that I cheer for!!
ReplyDeleteYay!
ReplyDeleteThanks, M'lady.
DeleteBreakfast tells me all is better than expected. I am so happy for you. It is hard when blogmates face their own mortality. Recently one of mine appears to have written a final blogpost and it has affected me profoundly, as others of have.
ReplyDeleteWe get to know each other rather well over the years.
Onward and upward Mike!

DeleteGood news indeed. As to here in Bluff Country I'm sleeping much better at night with the installation of an alarm system to keep the wanderer contained at night
ReplyDeleteI never had to go through that, but anytime you want to talk, give me a shout. I'll get you my number.
DeleteMike
Sorry I haven't been around lately Mike. Very glad to hear you're recovering well and I hope you'll sail through the rest of convalescene swiftly and smoothly.
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid I've mostly moved over to Facebook to post my meandering cogitations because the blogworld has gone silent (at least mine has) and there's more interaction on FB. I know it's flawed etc. but how to cure the need for feedback?
Very best wishes to you.
If you can stand my and my kids leftist/commie posts, let me know. Be happy to have you as a 'friend'.
