July 10th, so is this the first of the year or the last of the year?
15 miles south of Butte, taken this morning. Snow level dropped to 6500ft. So is this the first snow of the year, or the last? I'm in SoCal, don't have to worry about it, a buddy from Dillon sent it to me.
In some years this about when they open some roads in the Sierra or Cascades. It would be my guess that beautiful photo from your Buddy is of the first snow of season.
I'm just too used to Montana, the cooler temps, and the far fewer people. The food here, however, is great. We had pizza tonight in Fullerton that was almost as good as the ones I had in Italy.
We aren't having much of a summer so far here in Portland. Drizzly today.
ReplyDeleteI remember a summer I was up on 'pill hill' there at OHSU, maybe 78', when it rained every weekend June through August. Every damn one.
DeleteTermination dust? It's been hot with wildfires here. Mid-eighties at ninety-one sixty.
ReplyDeleteMan, it's early for termination dust, dontcha think? Middle of July.......
DeleteHaving a good summer, Robbie?

ReplyDeleteI hope not, but yeah, I remember a year that the McKenzie Pass in Oregon didn't open until early Aug.
DeleteI always feel a little sad when high summer rolls around.
ReplyDeleteHa! Good one.
DeleteI have a difficult time relating to snow in July, but the photo is gorgeous. You're fortunate to be enjoying California. I miss it immensely.

DeleteIt's hot here in Arizona and no sign of snow.
ReplyDeleteReally, I'm shocked, shocked.
DeleteSnow. In July. 90's and sweltering here.
