The Principal, and the child who won't learn

Look  at his posture, the  arms  crossed  in  defense, the  embarassed/guilty  look,  and  Ms. Merkel, looking  disgusted  and unbelieving.  She  is an example  of how  the world  views  us now, through the lens  of  donald trump.

We have no one  to blame but  ourselves.   For  the  genuine trump supporters  that  have  stuck  with him  through  his litany  of some  genuine  crimes,  and total  lack  of  morality, there  is  nothing to say. Hopefully, you'll  have  to soon  crawl  back  under  your rocks  and mutter to each other.

To  those  who chose him  over  Clinton, or  didn't  vote because 'they  didn't  like  either of  them', to  both I say you are culpable in this, it  is your fault. It  shows a lack  of  judgement  on  your  part, and  a real  ignorance of  the  world.

To those  who've (big edit here which  clearly  went awry  again)  didn't  supported him,  you  need to redouble  your  efforts, and  elect  representatives  who  won't  support him,

  2. His body language has always fascinated me. I've dealt with my own toddlers with similar stances.

I think the democratic process of voting needs to be completely revised both in the USA and Canada. The popular vote is not being honoured under our current systems.

    1. Aren't you glad to know it wasn't British troops that burned the white house?

  4. The electoral vote can be bought. It has no place in modern democracy.

  5. I wonder if part of the problem is telling the other side they live under rocks. Do their mothers wear combat boots, too? Talk about how much prescriptions cost now. Talk about their kids' college debt. Talk about the cost of gas, or how many deployments their children are sent on. Pick up a lunch tab. They're people, too.

    1. I respectfully disagree. I refer you to Pitt's recent column, reprinted in the NYTimes I think in the last couple weeks, where he writes convincingly that talking with die-hard trump supporters is unproductive. I personally have read comments from one who said that he did not care if trump's actions hurt him or his family. As long as 'libtards' don't like him, he'll vote for him. Not much reasoning with that. When he's gone, they'll creep back to the shadows until their next demagogue comes along.

    2. And the only thing that'd make me want to buy one of them lunch is when trump is impeached. Sort of a celebration bowl of soup. Maybe made from crow.......

  6. I don't read that look on his face as being embarrassed or guilty … I see him plotting revenge. His ONLY emotion is how it affects him personally … to Hell with the country or, heaven forbid, the world.

    1. I suppose it is, if that is one's primary identity, and if one was lacking in a certain area of what some call patriotism, love of country, etc. I lack that. I like the land north of the border, south of the border, the same as here. It's a interesting issue, and one you have many other things on your mind. Best to you and T. and tomorrow will go well. Sleep easy.

  9. I second that. I hope the political will rises to end his regime. In time he will be revealed, splayed, diagnosed, and analyzed by historians, psychologists, writers, filmmakers and comedians. Every bit of him will be evident and it will played like something akin to a side show carnival act. He will be the sand lot cheap shot of a president.

    1. I hope it happens sooner than later, with his judicial appts he's already hurt the US quite badly.
