Sent by my oldest recently from an old box of photo's. I think I remember the circumstances, but they are not going here. It has to do with a converted Minesweeper on a evening trip from Cavite to Manila.
In most ways they are. Sometimes though, when you look at them in the evening, the seasons here so ephemeral in nature, not knowing if tomorrow is 75f or snow, that you realize those times were so fleeting. Or it seems so now....but back then, the days of sun and love were endless.
It a way it was, Geo. At the end of our wedding we got on her dad's boat (300ft converted Minesweeper to the personal boat for the Commander Naval Forces Phillipines) for the trip across the bay to our honeymoon cottage on the bay south of Manila. Life's adventure.
Does, Bruce. I probably have few than most my age, she's been gone 20 years, and I think I've lost a few. But yes, the years after this picture were a great adventure.
Awww! That's a seriously sweet photo.
ReplyDeleteThanks SAW. That's what Kate the oldest thinks too.
DeleteI love old photographs. They look so young and happy!
ReplyDeleteWe were, Steve. Both in abundance.
DeleteOld photos are treasures.

DeleteYou both look happy. You'll always have that.
ReplyDeleteWe still do. Her death has come between us, but I still feel her presence, often in the early morning.
Delete"...converted Minesweeper on a evening trip from Cavite to Manila." Now there's a phrase to open a grand adventure.

DeleteYes, that conjures up a wealth of memories, I'll bet.
