Pat is right; it's great enlarged, the black and white elevator center. When I was a kid we had elevators of all sorts around Akron, and I rode my bike and took my sketchbook to record them. We had grain elevators and loading elevators. If I still had my old sketchbook, I'd add this to my collection. But, I don't recognize what this is for. Is it a pump?
general reply: Thanks Pat Joanne and Tom:, it's called a headframe, it's for mines, lowers miners down, brings ore up, hopefully brings up miners at end of shift. It's an elevator or sorts. WWW:Yes, absolutely....best thing we could have now for the fires. It's more than welcome. Tabor: thanks
Snow? Is that what people call that white stuff?
ReplyDeleteREALLY nice photo Mike. Enlarged, it is even better!
Thanks Pat. Doesn't compare with yours, but was ok.

ReplyDeleteGreat photo. Is the elevator part of a mine operation? I too suggest looking at the photo in an enlarged format.

That's beautiful and peaceful. Your area has been through the wringer of late. I surely hope this tames the fires.
ReplyDeleteIt did, and the 3-6 inches we're getting in the next 24 hrs will finish them off.
