Wanna take a ride?

We were at the Science Center to look at the Dead Sea Scrolls, and stopped by to see if we could borrow this for a test drive. Quite something when up close, and imagining where it's been. It feels like we're a long way from going back, at least as a country. The next one my have ads on the side like a nascar race car.

  1. You bring to mind the Goodyear Blimp, endless flashing Go...Go...Goodyear.

    1. Why Joanne, what a sweet compliment....people usually have to see me in person before that comparison is made. But I'd expect nothing less from you.

    1. Me too. It's even more impressive when it's in front of you.

    2. Were you allowed in it? I stuck my head in the capsule in Washington - very tight squeeze and claustrophobic for me. Got out faster than I got in!

    3. No, it's up in the air way out of people's reach. They did have a couple of the Mercury and Gemini era capsules that kids could get into.

  3. Ah, to get into space...I have such aspirations. I would totally hotwire that.

  4. I haven't even flown in any kind of airplane for years and the more I read about drones and whacko pilots, the more I'm keeping my feet on the ground, no less planet earth.

    1. Don't talk about drones or whacko pilots, Bruce. I'm going on a very long trip soon, and don't need that intruding on my imaginings.

  5. A beautiful aircraft, for which the sky is not the limit. Its service enlarged human imagination.

    1. It did, didn't it. And it's a shame it's hanging in a museum without a replacement that's still trying to reach the face of god.

    1. That may be the first time the Endeavor has ever been called 'cute'.
