Off to a nippy start

I awoke briefly at somewhere around midnight to hear the obligatory rifle being fired into the air, some local thinking he was in Beirut, but slept until MTPR came on at 6.

The day will be spent reading a recent Guy de la Valdene book lent by a friend, perhaps some football, and likely a nap this afternoon.

Happy new year all.

    1. I'd forgotten about that...not that I know of, she was killed in what, Belize maybe? They didn't want to pursue it, Guy made some appeals, don't remember.

    2. Galapagos. Ruled a suicide, at least at first, but her father says it was murder. Nothing new on The Google.

  2. I went to bed at midnight only to wake at 6, summoned to a fire call (I'm a volunteer) that turned out to be a faulty smoke detector... I am about ready for the nap

  3. I spent the morning trying to figure out why I cannot get a netflix connection to my TV downstairs. The reason being I wanted to make my exercise easier by distraction of Netflix. I was not successful and had to exercise to some awful re-run. I will figure it out eventually, my new year's resolution among others.

    1. Sounds like a genuine first world problem, which we can all identify with.

  4. Gosh we get the bad rap for snow but we're a doddle compared with you. Not even a decent inch yet and I've just let the fire go out as it was getting too warm. LOL>

Happy New Year Mike, many more.

  5. That is cold. Global warming has definitely hint Minnesota as in spite of our frigid reputation its been more than a few years since we were that far below zero. It must be admitted thou we live in the banana belt here. The far southeaster corner of the State...:)

    1. Overall it's been mild here too, at least in comparison to years past. In fact the low for this next week is only supposed to be around 5.

  7. It's become cold enough here again that I measure my walks by the number of tissues used per block. I hate having a runny nose.

Happy New Year and good luck to us all. We'll need it.

  8. It has bee balmy here. It's supposed to change next week. Staying above zero for this long has been unusual, to say the least.

    1. Our weather has been just about average, or 'normal' this year, after a much warmer than usual summer.
